Start with a fresh canvas
Tap “+” (Start fresh) in My art on the home screen. Want a particular canvas size? Choose New drawing with size beside it.

Pick a color. Make a mark.
Choose a brush and color from the toolbar, then draw with Apple Pencil. Turn on Draw with finger for finger painting. Add a picture through Reference photo when you want a little inspiration.

Replay, share, and explore
Open Drawing history to replay your progress. Use Fork to start a new drawing from a moment you like. Share a .nola file to take your artwork beyond your iPad.
How do I start chatting with Nola?
On a supported iPad with iPadOS 26 or later, enable Apple Intelligence. A grown-up can also open Settings, pass the parental gate, configure a compatible service, and enable sending chat and pictures. Third-party services may charge separately. You don’t need AI to draw.
How do I open a downloaded .nola drawing?
Download the file on an iPad with NolaDraw installed. Find the .nola file in Files and open it with NolaDraw. If it doesn’t open directly, choose NolaDraw from the share menu. Your imported drawing will appear in My art.
Can I draw without an internet connection?
Yes. Drawing, history playback, reference photos, and .nola export work offline. Third-party AI chat needs a connection to the service your grown-up configured.
